The best choice for your Kindle, hands down! January 6, 2010 Scott (Rochester, NY) 43 out of 43 found this review helpful
Upon receiving in the mail, I noted how well packaged the item was. It came in very sturdy packaging material and was sealed well, also. I unpacked the jacket and it immediately impressed me. It felt sturdy in the hand and I felt I had made the right choice about this product at that moment! I inserted my Kindle into it with no difficulty at all. Fearing that it might shake loose I gave it the "shake test". Holding it over the couch with the Kindle mounted inside, I vigorously shook it to see if the corner tabs would pop off. Nope. They held firm. This is of course an unreasonable test anyway, considering the kindle won't be treated like this, especially not when the cover is unzipped. Next, I zipped it up and noted how well the zippers functioned. Again, flawless. They moved very smoothly, even around the corners. Previous versions of this model were given bad marks for a design flaw regarding tearing at the corners of the zippers because it was too tight, however the manufacturer has since redesigned and remedied this issue. Now it works very well! My next test was to insert the charging cord into the exterior pocket to see how tightly it would fit with the Kindle inside. It was a tight fit, however I decided it would be best if I positioned the cord so that the largest part of the plug (the AC adapter) was sitting in the stretchy neoprene portion of the pocket. I opened and closed the jacket several times and much to my surprise, in this configuration the cord did not protrude enough to touch the Kindle screen! This is due to the firm backing material used to line the jacket - excellent! After that, I folded the jacket back into the reading position, since this is how I intend to use the Kindle from now on and found it to be very comfortable. My biggest fear while using the Kindle previously, was that it would inadvertently fall from my hands and smash to the ground due to its small and very smooth design. No more worries! :-) From now on I see no reason why I should have to remove the Kindle from the M-Edge Latitude Jacket. Th jacket is so compact, it maintains the portability of the Kindle and in fact, still fits into the cargo pockets of my pants! How perfect is that! This is the ideal protector for your Kindle!
Great Product!!! Better than expected January 3, 2010 Ritchie D. Patton (Ft. Benning, Georgia, USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I saw the video review posted in the review section and was very weary about purchasing this item. I read other reviews saying that the item had been updated, and the case was exactly what I was looking for in a case. I went ahead and bought it and it arrived yesterday. The shipping was extremely fast. The quality is much higher than I expected, and the case is super durable. I am in the military, and this will protect my Kindle from small drops and all the other gear I have. I am very glad for the purchase and the product!!
edit: The outside pouch on the case is large enough to store the kindle light made my M-Edge, the charging cord, my headphones, and an Ipod shuffle. The pocket on the back that is made for the light stretches. So far this has not been an issue, but it makes me worry about the light being able to slip out in the future. This may amount to nothing, but it still worries me.
Not impressed. December 24, 2009 M. Camp 7 out of 12 found this review helpful
I just received this today. I had trouble getting my Kindle 2 to fit. Even though I was very careful, I still felt like I was exerting a bit of undue pressure to "make it fit."
I was displeased enough with it already that I didn't even try to zip it up. After reading another reviewer's comments, I think it may be a good thing I didn't try to.
The interior of this case is a soft felt-like material which I do not like. It would be difficult to clean and I don't like the way it feels when you touch it.
You can bend the cover back so that you can hold the Kindle more easily; however, it's nowhere near as comfortable as simply holding the Kindle in your hands without a case.
I am going to return this ASAP and seek a better option. I may just look for a "sleeve" so that the Kindle will be protected while being moved from one place to another and continue to read it while just holding it in my hands without a case.
Great Case! December 18, 2009 S. Gilmore (Fort Mill, SC) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is a great sturdy case for my Kindle 2. M-Edge has definitely re-designed the case. My kindle fits very snug in the case. It's very easy to zip. I love the full zip around. My kindle is safe and sound. I love it!
still looking for the perfect cover . . . . November 21, 2009 BookWormMom (Illinois) 8 out of 10 found this review helpful
So ok, first I started out with the Amazon Kindle Leather Cover which I loved. It looked great, felt great, the cover bent back completely flat while reading, and I loved that the Kindle was completely unobstructed by straps, etc. holding it in. Then it cracked my Kindle with the hinge/lock in feature. So I really wanted to ensure that this doesn't happen to my new Kindle. So basically it was between the M-Edge Latitude and the Patagonia. I picked the M-Edge because it has slightly better reviews regarding actually holding the Kindle in place, and because it was a little cheaper. I received it yesterday, and I really don't care for it. The straps are wide/thick, and when the cover is folded back for reading, it's pretty bulky (1 1/4 inch thick including the Kindle) and my Kindle looks like it's wearing a backpack! So I am going to try the M-Edge Go (most similar to the Amazon cover, but with thin straps to attach it to the back cover and hopefully prevent the bending prong/cracked Kindle problem). If only the Mivizu Sleek had some padding, I think it would be the perfect solution. No obtrusive straps, Kindle clips in without the hinge system, and it snaps closed.
