1 out of 5 stars Broke My Kindle   May 3, 2010
Stephanie L. Marushia (Virginia Beach, VA)
This cover caused my Kindle to come apart within a few months of buying it (I bought it and the Kindle in February). I typically only read my Kindle in bed or on the couch and while I was reading the other night I heard an odd noise and noticed that my Kindle had frozen. The top right corner of the Kindle had separated and caused my device to stop working. I finally managed to push the corners back together enough that it was no longer a gaping hole, but it still isn't all the way back together which I'm sure will seriously decrease the life of my Kindle (dust can now get into it).

Do not buy these covers!! You are risking your device. Instead get one that doesn't hook into your device.

1 out of 5 stars looks good, drops the kindle   April 30, 2010

Well, frankly I can't figure out why people think this cover is even acceptable.

IT WON'T STAY ON.

I have had it for several months, and when it first started to come off the kindle, I thought I must be attaching it incorrectly.
But there really are not that many ways to do it.
I had to be very careful anytime I picked up my kindle lest the device itself go flying out from the cover that I was still holding. This did happen several times. It falls out even when just holding it to read.

Pretty worthless overall.

In desperation, I just got a feau-leather cover for half the price from BoxWave. It uses pouches and elastic bands at the corners to hold the kindle in very securely. What a difference. It also has a strap that magetically clips to the back of the cover when closed for more security. Lastly, it's better padded.

I will never again use the expensive kindle cover from amazon.

Wow...after I wrote this, I started reading other reviews and was puzzled that a number of people warned of "cracks" in the housing of their kindle from the cover hooks. Well I checked, and my kindle IS cracked around both hook holes on the side, especially the top one. No wonder the cover kept falling off.
Ok, well, the kindle seems to be working ok, and the new BoxWave cover does not utilize the holes, so the problem should not get any worse now. I guess I will just continue to use it and not send it back. But that really sucks.

Thanks a million for this great cover getting fine reviews from most owners (who probably reviewed it within five mins of receiving it). You guys better go back and check around the holes for cracks.

1 out of 5 stars Not so good...   April 29, 2010
NY toolgirl (Westchester, New York)
I've had my Kindle for a little over a year and for a while I was very happy with this cover however recently I've noticed that at the location of the attachment points my Kindle has started to crack. I've since taken the case off and bought a skin to protect it but I can assure you that I did nothing to provoke this cracking.

5 out of 5 stars Kindle2 cover   April 28, 2010

Nice protection for my Kindle2. Doesn't add a lot of weight or bulk. Wish this model had been available in more colors, but a dot of red nail polish on my cover distinguishes it from my husband's :-)

4 out of 5 stars A Good, Basic Cover   April 28, 2010
V. Craft (GA USA)
This cover isn't flashy or pretty, but it's a good, basic cover for my Kindle. I've been using this cover for over a year now and have no complaints about it. The cover is well made, durable and comfortable to hold. It fits the Kindle almost perfectly, though it does add a bit of weight and depth to the Kindle - but not in a bad way. The best things about this case are the hinges that attach the case to the Kindle. Although I was confused the first time I put it on, I've had no problems since.

Some things that would make this case better: A strap to hold it closed, a variety of colors or patter options, and perhaps the ability to turn it into a stand. Overall, I'd recommend this case as a good starter cover for any Kindle.
