Feels like a book April 9, 2009 William Spinks (About 34N@85W) This is a nice addition to your Kindle. Look at the product pics to see how it connects...the connection is secure and is easy to release/reattach the K2 at will. They only real complaint I have is the Kindle is secure on the left side but can be lifted from the right side. This gives one the feeling that, if mishandled, it would bend or break the Kindle at its attachment points. I'd like to see something on the right side to grasp that edge too.
The Amazon leather cover is of very nice quality--dyed black leather with what appears to be a tightly woven, charcoal gray wool liner, neatly stitched together over a stiff backing material. The top cover folds completely around to meet the back cover so you can operate the page turning buttons with either hand.
It does make the whole assembly heavier, but probably not as heavy as your average book. And it will only nominally protect your Kindle if you drop it. It it lands on a corner your Kindle is going to get dinged. And if it falls open the face may get a little scratched if you drop it on a rough surface, like asphalt pavement...this happened to me. My theory is that the Kindle may not have been as damaged without the cover because the increased weight carried it to the ground with that much more force. It's an inertia thing. On the other hand, it might have been much worse...who can tell?
Note that I don't believe the cover had anything to do with my dropping the Kindle (late for a meeting, hurrying while trying to carry and juggle too much stuff...maybe should not have had the K2 with me.) The Kindle still works great.
This cover is a good deal too...about the same as the plastic or canvas types offered by other brands and much less than other leather offerings that may be a bit more elegant but not worth the marginal difference in my mind. Don't have a Kindle yet?...if you are looking at this you know you want one. Buy them together!...and enjoy your new reading freedom. Do it now...you'll be showing off everywhere you take it.
Kindle Cover April 9, 2009 C. Herrlin There are few things I buy with which I am completely satisfied. My Kindle Cover is one. It looks great, it feels good to hold and it offers great protection for my Kindle. I couldn't be more pleased.
Kindle 2 Leather cover April 9, 2009 Cathy O'connor (Michigan) It is of fine quality and is very well put together. It makes the kindle feel like a real book and it disguises it as well.
Very sturdy design April 9, 2009 Cheryl Wagner (VA) I am impressed with the sturdiness of this cover. I also like how easily it attaches to the Kindle. When I showed the cover to others who own a Kindle, they decided to order the same cover because it is so sturdy. I also like the color (no fingerprints!)
Kindle 2: Amazon's New Wireless Reading Device (Latest Generation)
Simple and wonderful case April 9, 2009 Justin L. Dover This is a very nice looking case that does not have any bells or whistles. It just covers/protects the kindle and seems to be made of good materials. I would buy another if I owned two kindles.
