This is a great product. No bells or whistles, just great function. The material is a nylon that has inherent water resistant properties. I would leave it out in the rain but I would (and did) run with it from the car to the office in rain and snow with no worries about my Kindle.
I have 2 young kids and this is a fantastic protective cover to help keep little hands off the Kindle. The sturdy sides also give you nice drop protection. I wouldn't be worried about a drop from the couch or bed or even from the little ones.
Well done Timbuk2. I wish they had one that was similar in build but with a pocket for the cable... this one is missing that. That is the only reason it got 4 stars.

This is a very nice sleeve for the Kindle. It will hold the outlet cord, but nothing else (like a clip-on light). It seems very durable and did well during cross-country travels through several airports. I recommend this sleeve for its functionality and sharp color-pallette.

Great sleeve, Kindle fits in well and slides in and out easily. It is nicely padded to protect the Kindle and durable as well. Typical Timbuk2 quality and the colors make it easy to find in the deep black hole that is my bag!

I keep my Kindle in this sleeve whenever I'm finished reading. It fits in my purse. The colors of the case make it easy to find. (Sometimes things that are black get "lost" in there.) I feel that my Kindle is protected when it is in the sleeve. The sleeve is really an envelope with velcro fasteners. The Kindle cannot fall out. I take the Kindle out to read and therefore, it is thin and light enough to hold easily.
I would recommend this sleeve.
