Good device with some limitations March 6, 2010

Overall, I'm quite happy with my Kindle DX. Very good for reading technical documentation and work related stuff thanks to the big screen and the search facilities. The reading experience in general is excellent, my sight doesn't get as much tired as when I'm reading off a computer screen.
A few complaints, though:
* The support for pdf documents could be much better (zoom, for example). I would expect this to be fixed by future firmware upgrades. This is an important issue for technical documentation, which is many times available only in pdf.
* Periodicals for international customers: Amazon please reach better agreements with international phone carriers; reading periodicals and magazines stripped out of photos is not precisely a good reading experience. I personally won't pay for a periodical subscription until this issue is solved.
* Titles in other languages: the selection of titles in English is impressive but I'd love to be able to buy titles in Spanish.
* Last but not least: open the Kindle to other formats. Being able to load books in other formats doesn't preclude me from buying titles at the Amazon shop, and that would provide a better value for my Kindle DX (which is not precisely a cheap device!).

Excellent device, well designed but most of all: perfect size.
I also have the sony reader which is also good but was too small for me.
12 inch diagonal might even be better (let's wait for the "skif")
I mainly bought it for its size and the access to the kindle store. I regret that not all the books present in the kindle store are available for customers in Europe. I think amazon should warn european customers about it and provide figures.

Kindle DX Wireless Reading Device (9.7" Display, Global Wireless, Latest Generation)
I love the product, and will save a fortune on books. Not only that, but I will have much lighter bags when I travel! The only complaint I have is that I haven't found any way to password-protect my Kindle, so I have concerns about misuse of the device (and access to my Amazon account) if it is misplaced. A password-protection mechanism that only showed my contact information (name, e-mail and cell phone) until the proper password was entered would help me to sleep better. (Somewhat similar to the password protection on a Blackberry device.)

I love my DX.
Pros.
1) Nice large screen.
2) Looks just like pater and is as easy to read, easier if you consider the adjustable font size.
3) Easy access to all amazon ebooks via wireless connection.
Cons.
1)Surprisingly small memory size, and more surprisingly no memory card slot to compensate.
2)Ease of use needs a lot of work. Once reading things could not be better but trying to navigate the menus can be anoying.

Overall, I'm very happy with my DX.

I love my kindle DX. After reading Stephen King's "Under the Dome" (1000+ pages), my Kindle is like a feather.
I read a lot and like to have the latest book available to read. We don't have any room in the house to store more books.
