Protection and good light April 30, 2010 Jennifer R. Allain (Baltimore, MD) I have used the Sony reader for the last 2 years and I love it! The only problem I had with the reader itself was that I had to replace it twice due to pressure cracks in the screen. Thanks to Sony and their wonderful warranty, these replacements only cost me $30 a piece.
My fiance purchsed this cover for me for Christmas and I have not taken it off since then. The hard plastic that has the LED light in it, covers the screen perfectly and prevents anything from pressing against it hard enough to cause a pressure crack. I can carry this in my back pack, purse, and I've found at times that things were placed on top of it and it was fully protected. My fiance also is very pleased with the low light, as it doesn't disturb him when we are in bed.
I recommend this product for everyone who has a reader!
Sony ereader light April 19, 2010 K. Lini The light is easy to install and works as advertised. There is a glare during use and the light requires gentle adjustments to resolve the issue. I am happy with the light, it adds important functionality to the reader.
Great product March 16, 2010 American Consumer As an early adopter of the e-reader, I had purchased a model that did not have a built in light. Therefore, I would use clip on lights to read at night, and it never provided for a comfortable reading experience. After doing some extensive research, I found out about this product, which is no longer sold at Sony. The cover is extremely functional, and the light shield makes reading at night very easy. The added weight is not really a factor, and I carry the book with me everywhere. I have modified it by creating a chain that uses a lobster claw to attach to the reader and a chain to the actual cover, in case the tabs of the cover break, so that the reader doesn't fall to the ground (again). Overall, excellent product.
reader cover amd light February 23, 2010 Julie Cannon (usa) This is a great item. I think everyone with a reader needs one of these.
Blurry, weak, and bulky October 8, 2009 S. Griggs (Colorado Springs, Colorado) I was hoping to compensate for the lack of a backlight on my PRS-505 Sony Reader. Unfortunately, this product fails miserably and was a big disappointment. It obfuscates the reader's text because one side is textured to disburse the light from the weak LED lights embedded in the spine of the apparatus. You are much better off holding a flashlight in your teeth. The only good things I can say about the item is that the build quality, as far as materials, is good. That's the only thing that kept me from giving it one star. Don't buy one of these. Get yourself one of the kind that have a little light that shines down on the face of the reader without obscuring your view.
