Replacement Home Travel Power Adapter Charger for Amazon Kindle 1st Genernation August 25, 2010 Generation I Just what I neeeded to find out that my Flea Market Kindle really did work!
Not very clear product description. March 23, 2010 Philip K. Stamm (Acworth, GA, US) I needed an AC Charger/Adapter for my Kindle 2, and ordered this item, which does not work, even though it says it does. I'm frustrated. What IS the correct Kindle 2 AC Charger/Adapter item number?
DO NOT BUY! May 8, 2009 K. Hennek 13 out of 13 found this review helpful
This charger does NOT work. I bought two so I would have one for a spare (I paid $6 or so for it); one seems to be charging the Kindle, but I didn't try the spare one I bought until just recently when I was on a trip. It is too loose to fit properly in the kindle to recharge it -the male part is too small. It just falls out! I never thought to check out the spare to see if it worked when I bought it - I just assumed that it WOULD work (I now realize I made a mistake) I emailed the provider to ask for a replacement and their response was:
Hi, thank you for contacting us. According to our records, you received the product(s) for over 30 Days already. The warranty period for the item(s) you have purchased has expired. Sorry, but we will not be able to replace or give you technical support for the product(s) you purchased.

It discharged my battery April 9, 2009 Zor (NJ) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
Not only didn't it charge my Kindle, it actually discharged both my and my wife's Kindles. It is worse than horrible. It can be destructive.
Why is Amazon still selling these? March 6, 2009 the constant reader (Chicago, IL) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
Do not buy this item. It does not work!! It will power your kindle but not re-charge it. So now, because Amazon is out of stock on the original power charger, I have a Kindle that is no longer portable!!
Rather, to use my Kindle it now has to be plugged in!
