Firstly, I am happy with this case, I've had it over a year so it's pretty durable. That said, I'll touch on the things I think could be improved upon. There's at least one design flaw that I see they revised for the 2nd Gen version of this case: a double zipper and cut out in the foam base so you don't have to take the Kindle out of the case to charge it, it would be nice if they could update the 1st Gen case to have the same feature. I leave my Kindle in this case all the time and I do have to take it out every time to turn it on, though I can't say that bothers me much. It's unavoidable when the on/off switch is located on the back of the device. I saw that these were out of stock for a while and am glad to see that they're back because I'm sure I'll eventually have to replace the one I have because it's pretty scratched up in spots (better that than my screen, though). As noted by at least one other reviewer, there was a pretty strong chemical odor when I first got it, but it dissipated eventually and wasn't enough to make me sick or send it back, I've smelled worse things. All in all, I like this product and deducted 1 star for a couple small (but tolerable) design flaws and the price (I think if it was 1/2 as much, it might be a little more reasonable). Regardless, since it's the only one of its kind that I could find, I'll buy it, supply and demand I guess!

I really like this accessory for my kindle. Not only is it pretty water resistant it is sand and salt proof. Great for taking your kindle to the beach:)

Purchased this product to take to the beach with me this year. IT WAS GREAT! I was able to come straight out of the water, sit down and start reading without worrying about getting my Kindle wet. Also great for soaking in the hot tub and reading. Sit back and relax. Yes if you grab it from the side sometimes it will flip pages, as with most of the Kindle covers you have to pick it up from the bottom or top to avoid flipping pages if it is not locked. Worth purchasing for beach, pool, outdoor use!

I really like this product and use it almost daily in the summer. It is wonderful protection for your Kindle while outdoors, just understand that this is NOT waterproof!

This product does not fit the Kindle 2. It would not sit on top the formed insert and zip shut. Good idea, horrible fit. Would Not recommend.
