Warranty July 26, 2010 B. Knoblock Hopefully I'll never have to use this warranty. If I do, then I can give you a more accurate review.
Extended Warranty July 20, 2010 bos1 For the price of the Warranty, the length of coverage should be at least 5 years.
Relieved to have an extended warranty! July 7, 2010 Elizabeth H. Frost (San Diego, CA USA) I paid more for my kindle that it is now being sold BUT I have used it since Mother's Day and love it, a lot.
Having an extended warranty means a lot of peace of mind to me and I thank you for offering it.
1+2 = 2 = Ripoff! July 6, 2010 N. Lopez 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Simple and to the point. An extended warranty means something added to it. So, this company fails in many ways. In its definition of extended, its math, and narrow vision. As someone pointed out, if you pay 25% of the value of the item, that is the norm. Here, it is not the norm. The kindle 2 has been reduced in price people! $65 dollar is not 25% of $189. It should be $47 dollars. Yet, it seems the "warrantors" have not updated their site and/or kept their end of the bargain. Simply and clearly greed in its purest form. Imagine, a $20 dollar ripoff to you my friend (that is two books you could've had).
Here are a couple of solutions:
1). The Stoic loser: be that 3% person that pays whatever a company sets have a peace of mind while they have a piece of your earned hard cash.
2). Smart and Savvy Blogging: Post your dissatisfaction and start a blogging campaign to reflect the price percentage does not reflect the norm. It takes one plus one plus one and so on to get their their attention.
3). Protect and it will serve you: The other option is don't buy the warranty, since it only covers US territories, which is another dumb and not clearly visionistic on their part. Instead, get a nice sturdy cover for it, those that if you drop the Kindle, it will bounce back --not really and don't attempt it. Also take care of it, follow the manufacturers guides on handling it and care, including letting the battery drain to its fullest and then letting it "sleep" before recharging it. This why most fail, proper battery charging. This will make your battery live longer, and your Kindle.
4). Tree killer and "recyclist":Finally, if you really don't want to deal with this warranty, just buy a used paperback at Half-price books and/or at Hudson News Stands at the airport...and get a box of Chiclets while at the stand... u really need it for the airplane.
Cheaper at Target June 30, 2010 wq 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
The Kindle may be the same price at Target, but what about this two year extended warranty?! At Target there is a two year replacement plan for seventeen dollars...why would anyone ever pay sixty five when they can get basically the same thing for seventeen? I don't know what this plan covers, but I do know that Targets plan covers if the system it self malfunction...it does not cover if the Kindle is run over by a car, dropped in the toilet or anything that could be considered purposeful.
