 Does NOT protect your Kindle March 4, 2010

I was expecting a "skin" like for an iPod or cell phone when I bought this... you know, the jelly-type thing that conforms to your electronic device and absorbs shock when you drop it... especially since it has an almost $20 price tag. Instead I got a pretty sticker for my Kindle. Great! Now it will be beautiful when I drop it. Too bad it will also probably be in two or more pieces.

This skin covers the front and back of the Kindle, as shown in the picture. The back has cut outs for the speakers and the area near the headphone jack is exposed. It even has parts for the buttons (not recommended if you can't remember what the buttons do). The packaging says it's made of vinyl and uses 3M adhesive, which can be removed without leaving residue. It does not cover the sides, so it's not very good protection. However, it's quite thick and will protect the areas it covers well. It follows contours well. It is easy to apply, just like sticking a sticker.
I like this pattern, which has versions of popular books like "Lord of the pies" "Lord of the files" "War and peas".

There is a front to this skin, but not a screen protector.... those are clear!Anyway, I just love my gel skin! It keeps the Kindle 2 clean and from scratches, very stylish to boot...Lots of fun!I have a clear screen protector also and when I take it with me out, I have a zip pouch that is for this very thing... protection.

I bought this not knowing how easy it would be to apply and when I got it, was pleasantly surprised. Everyone that has seen it thinks the skin is a cool look to a really cool product that looks very blah in plain white. Definitely would recommend this product!
